The principles of the Eco Racing team are to develop, showcase and promote green technologies in the highly competitive arena of elite international motorsport. These core values are the focus of our strategy to compete with the global giants in the ultimate tests of motor racing endurance - the European and American Le Mans Series, as well as the Le Mans 24 hour itself.
Since debuting in 2006, our bio-diesel sportscar remains the only privately owned one of its type in international racing. Developed in a pioneering technical partnership with biofuel company D1 Oils, the car's modified V10 turbo charged engine is derived from a road car and is monitored by our cutting-edge Engine Management System to enable it to already achieve 2010 Euro 4 emissions standards... more
The Team
The Eco Racing team is lead by Ian Dawson and Simon Wright.
Ian is our engineer and has a wealth of motor racing experience, having previously lead both F1 and Le Mans teams, racing the first ever bio-Diesel sportscar at Le Mans 2004. He is partnered Simon Wright, award winning UK businessman. Simon is cheif executive of the Wright Group of companies including SJW Construction, Simon Wright Homes, SJW Civil Engineering, SJW Land & Development and SJW Drylining.
Our driver is Harri Toivonen, who boasts many notable highlights within his long career including competing in the World Rally Championship and Le Mans 24 hours for Porsche.
